Epic sadness at not being able to connect to Bee anymore - a reality I wasn’t fully confronted with until I opened MC Chat on my phone in order to log into This Land. Somehow this morning I managed to stop and back up Bee, and cancel the hosting, without fully feeling the implications. |

For some reason the custom IP for Bee (beeminecraftserver.nn.pe:25581) isn't working at the moment. I have submitted a support ticket, but the host are being pretty useless at the moment.
In the meantime it should be possible to connect to Bee through the numbered IP which is currently 185.38.148.48:25581 Upon return form Autscape (which Bee is heavily inspired by) I am finding it easier to know and act upon what I want. This is a good thing.
I have found that:
For Bee players there are some options:
I welcome any comments/feedback. There may be other options I haven't thought of. --Adam Just in case anyone wants to use AutismChat on their own server, the current version can now be downloaded from the AutismChat page.
I've switched the server mod (an un-modified server cannot support plugins) from CraftBukkit to Spigot. In theory Spigot offers better performance (e.g. less RAM used) but it's a bit more complicated which is why I've put it off until now. So far the server seems to be running fine, and it also seems to have fixed the issue with the monsters wondering off into unloaded chunks and accumulating, preventing more monsters from spawning. So Bee might be a little more dangerous now.
However, if you notice any aspect of Minecraft not working as you think it should be, please let me know. Our host (Nitrous Networks) just unexpectedly moved the server to a different "node" because of some hardware issues they were having. So the IP address for Bee has changed again. I've made a custom IP now, so this won't keep happening every time the server gets moved. The new IP is: beeminecraftserver.nn.pe:25581
As discussed previously, our IP address has now changed from 144.76.116.13:25581 to 185.38.148.17:25581
You will need to enter the new address, not the old one, in order to connect to Bee. MowLiao and AugustPhoenix are currently visiting Lottiotta and me. A few days ago, Lottiotta sandwiched my router between the telephone/answer-machine and a stack of paper in order to get it out of the way of the Roomba; the router overheated and now doesn't do wifi or ADSL (internet). I'm at Lottiotta's house, using their internet. Rosa (Lottiotta's cat) has taken up her rightful place on my lap. Pictured, left to right: Lottiotta's hands, ladle-of-transferred-ownership, AugustPhoenix, MowLiao. Bottom: harpereaves' feet, Rosa (doesn't play Minecraft).
There is now a way for players to see the minimum time for which the server is virtually guaranteed to continue to run. Bee's accounts are now available for you to view. So long as there is enough money in the hosting account, I will use it to pay the hosting bill. I will also try to keep costs low so that all contributions (including my own) go further. The current balance of £3.42 (at time of writing) will pay for hosting (assuming Nitrous Networks continues to offer the Wood Tier at £2.50) up until the 23rd of August.
Melissa doesn't feel she can be sufficiently dedicated to being a member of staff without Cassian's support. That's quite understandable (I feel the same way!) and also expected.
Now it's just me. Very sad. Sad sad sad. --Adam |
