Our Rules
Consent and respect for boundaries are important to us.
If you are in a dispute with a player, or you suspect that a player is breaking the rules, please report them.
You may be unwhitelisted if you:
*In order to stop the world filling up with untouchable stuff that belongs to players who have long since left the server, there is a protocol for taking over a former player's unclaimed land:
In addition to removal from the whitelist, a global ban will be applied to 'players' who:
These rules are not necessarily exhaustive.
Mod Guidelines
To be followed by moderators in addition to the player rules. Published here for reasons of transparency.
Moderators should not use admin privileges to fix problems unless:
(a) the problem cannot be fixed by the player(s) who created it; and
(b) they have the express permission of the player(s) involved.
However, if the relevant player(s) have been permanently banned/unwhitelisted by the population officer, then their permission is not required.
Mods may temporarily unwhitelist players if they deem it necessary (for example to prevent further abuse). They must inform the population officer, so that the population officer can review the case and decide whether to uphold the mod's decision or re-whitelist the player. If the mod thinks it's a 'global banning' offense then they should CC: Adam.
Mods may use creative mode in the performance of their duties only for the ability to fly and not be attacked by mobs. When doing so, they shoud take care that when they have finished, they haven't brought any new material into the world or removed any. Remember that any blocks you destroy while in creative mode just disappear, and any blocks you place remain in your inventory as well.
If mods use teleport (or flying in creative mode) in the performance of their duties, they should return to their original location before resuming play. They should also take care not to have relocated any items while using these fast-transport modes.
If you are in a dispute with a player, or you suspect that a player is breaking the rules, please report them.
You may be unwhitelisted if you:
- are suspected of being under 18 years old
- steal - if it was earned/fetched/mined/built etc. by someone else and they haven't told you that you can have it, leave it as it is.*
- harm another player without both of you having PvP enabled for each other. This includes indirect attacks, e.g. if AutismChat would prevent you from hurting someone with a sword, don't drop a bucket of lava on them. If you attack someone in any way they must be able to defend themself, which means you must have PvP enabled for that player and they must have PvP enabled for you. (See AutismChat command list to find out how to enable PvP for just one player.)
- tell someone that their pronouns are wrong
*In order to stop the world filling up with untouchable stuff that belongs to players who have long since left the server, there is a protocol for taking over a former player's unclaimed land:
- put a claim around the area you want to take over ownership of
- put signs around the perimiter, stating your intentions, an email address where you can be contacted and a 6 month deadline, e.g. "I, [username] wish to claim this land as mine! If you are the original owner, please email me [email address] before 2015-01-25"
- if 6 months go by and you receive no response, the land is yours
In addition to removal from the whitelist, a global ban will be applied to 'players' who:
- grief
- cheat
- attack the server or threaten to do so
- advertise
- spam
- harass
